Harvest Noir

Yesterday we celebrated good food and great friends at Harvest Noir!

Farmers Gen and Jim were our awesome Table Captains.

And it was so...WET! Yes, it rained for the entire picnic! It certainly was difficult trying to serve and eat the potluck meal with one hand holding an umbrella, trying not to drip water on the persons next to you or on the food in front of you, and ignoring the sopping wet tablecloth running water into your lap!

I did not take many photos of the amazing, delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes everyone brought, or the bike parade, or the local wine and beer tent, or the walking parade with sparklers and LED glow hoopers, or the fabulous black costumes, or the best decorated tables (like Hidden Harvest's!), or the 13 piece orchestra...but I got a few while we were partying away at the NAC turned dance club! And thankfully Gen-the-farmer was into taking photos that she then shared!

JF arrived by bike parade with his awesome Dutch bike!

Flowers and swiss chard from the farm were our decorations.

Glow hoopers with LED hoops were all over - including my hoop instructor (not pictured)!

Happy faces! I think we'll come back next year - hopefully with no rain!
A big congratulations to the organizers of Harvest Noir 2012, despite the rain, it was amazing fun!

  1. Wow! Your table looked amazing when it wasn't covered entirely with umbrellas. The bouquets & decorations at your table really brightened things up and we were honoured to be your picnic neighbours.

Let's hope for a clear sky next year!
