Last weekend we were visiting friends and had the opportunity to experience a beekeeper's harvesting time!
We harvested over 300lbs of honey and I had a great time learning hands on how to spot a queen, sweep bees of the comb an dextract the honey!
I also decided that even if the city laws would allow, keeping bees in our backyard would be a little to close to our house for my comfort. Those bees were none too happy to be carted around and made to share their food.
