My Garden to Yours: Friday Blog Roll

Today I'm trying something new and linking this post to a series by a wonderful gardening blog called Outside, At Home.

The series is about sharing our gardening progress on Fridays. I took these pictures on a sunny day last weekend - so without further ado, here are how things are progressing!

Bin of peppermint and Bed #1: chard, lettuce, parsley and peas!

Bed # 2: Brassicas (kale, cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi and pac choi)

Bed #3: Green and yellow beans and edamame - just seeded, marketmore american cucumbers, chives, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, heirloom dry beans (tripod) and basil!

Pretty chard - one of several colour variations known as rainbow chard.

Jericho romaine lettuce. Dare I say it - delicious in peanut-butter sandwiches!

Peas.
Sierra lettuce.

Italian Flat Parsley. <3!

Second generation brassicas - amazing how these tiny things turn into those in the background in a matter of weeks!

Heat-stressed (yellow leaves) pac choi.

Heat-stressed Red Russian kale.

Leeks!

Purple basil - Dark Opal

Old standby- Genovese basil!

And last but not least delicious - Sweet Thai basil! Or should I say Fragran?

  1. Yay! Thanks for linking up Rachelle! I love your garden. I'm just venturing out into kale, chard, lettuce territory so it's fun to see what you have here. We'll be reading your blog to see what tips/skills you're learning from your job on the farm!

  2. Thanks Mary! This is my first year with chard too. We bought some last year and noticed if we didn't cook it long enough it made our teeth fuzzy. Also, keep your eyes out for a post soon on kale chips! I made them once last year and they were good! Going to experiment a bit more this year and find the best recipe variation.
